IT Security Technology: IT Security in the SOA Era |
Managing the IT infrastructure is already a tough challenge for today’s enterprise IT managers. Overseeing multi-faceted networks with many operating systems, applications and communications protocols can be extremely complex and time-consuming.
Now, many organizations are increasingly migrating toward a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment. While SOA offers several benefits, including helping organizations respond faster to changing market conditions, and reducing costs and risks, it isn’t without its share of challenges. For example, some newly implemented SOA systems aren’t flexible enough to meet growing business demands or may fail to produce a synchronized architecture, which is required to sustain various application connections and to support organizational data sharing.

Tips and Tricks: The ssh-broker-ctl tool |
The SSH Tectia G3 architecture introduced a new client-side component, the Connection Broker, that runs as a user-specific process and takes care of all the actual connections the user makes with sshg3, sftpg3, and scpg3 clients, as well as the GUI client on Windows. The Connection Broker also acts as an authentication agent, replacing the old ssh-add2 command.
Most of the time when you use the sshg3, scpg3 or sftpg3 clients, you do not need to know what is happening under the hood. But if you use multiple keys or tokens for authenticating to different servers, or if you have several connections open and want to keep track of them, you might want to check the detailed status of the Connection Broker. This is where ssh-broker-ctl tool comes in handy.
