Virtualization is an attractive option for efficiency-minded IT organizations. By leveraging consolidation techniques to make single physical resources, such as a server, operating system, application, or storage device, appear to function as independent virtual resources to the user, virtualization offers large enterprises a host of potential benefits. In addition to cost saving, these include improved system flexibility and remote access, and a simplified, easier-to-manage computing model.
